I have decided upon building the Magnetic Levitation Train (MagLev for short) for my 15% Time Project. This is a design I have always been impressed with. It will require my assistance to move along the track, but it will hold itself in the air. I'm excited to start working on it. Here are some goals I have while building the MagLev:
- Use magnets as my source of levitation (however as few as possible!)
- Make the MagLev capable of moving along the track at at least 5 mph
- Create a track made out of wood that is at least 5 feet long
- Allow the train to sustain weight
