Journal entry 6, Justin J, Dori Craig

Journal Entry 6, Justin J, week 6

Recently I have made some progress in my 16% project, which is to make a fork, knife, and plate using 3d design. I have sketched out my objects on a piece of paper. I have figured out the dimensions of my objects. I also want my utensils to be unique, so I am going to paint them. I have a few different ideas of what colors and such I want them to be. I have also been doing a lot of research of different apps I can use to make my designs. There are many, many different design apps. So far, the best ones seem to be 123Design and Tinker Cad. I will most likely use one of these two to build my utensils.

One of the biggest steps I need to take is figuring out how to come in contact with a 3d printer. If I cant do this, I will have to build my utensils a different way. I need to talk to Mr. Joslin about finding a way to print my 3d design asp, so I know if my method will work! I also need to begin the actual process of designing my utensils. Its going to take a long time to do, especially a fork. So, my main steps are to figure out is printing my 3d design is possible, and then begging my design process on the iPod.
