This week I have done more research into finding out more about building my solar panel. I have found a seemingly good materials list here. But I'm not fully ready to make it final. I also am about 95% sure I will be using this tutorial for my project. I will confirm these sites by next week and hopefully begin to purchase some of my materials as well.
Possible Materials List:
(• Copper Sheeting
• Clear Plexiglass/Perpex/
• Some Thin Wood Strip
• copper Wire
• Duct Tape
• Metal Guillotine
• Bandsaw
• Electric Ring Hob)
The next steps I need to accomplish are determining the size
of my system, designing it, compiling a list of resources needed, and buying
them. To do this, I must first
research further into what the energy output is like on different sized solar
panels, and determine how much energy I want to generate. I will also have to find a rechargable
boat battery, but I might save buying one for later in the year. For now, I just want to make sure they
exist for my purpose. (If
rechargable BOAT batteries don't exist, I'll waterproof a car or boat battery,
which ARE rechargable, and use that instead.) Once I know how much power my
system will need to supply, I will be ready to work on design. I will use the
tutorials I find to determine what I have to buy. I also might sketch out what I expect the panels to look
like, or find a diagram instead.
