Journal Entry Week 1 Spring Term

Use the 15% Time Journal Grading Rubric below (or download it from the 15% Time topic page) to write this week's entry. For this entry, you need to address all of the Grading Areas from the rubric, except Supporting Content and Design Process. You should complete this journal entry after you spend the full time in class doing research and design (R&D).

Due to the Winter Break and the end of the term, it has been almost a month since we last worked on our 15% Time Project. This week's journal entry will be used to re-engage with your project. I want you to spend your time updating your Design Notebook with next steps, new ideas, and materials needed. Then, for your Journal Entry, you need to answer these questions:

  1. Are you still happy with your project choice? Why or why not? If you are not, what would you like to do instead.
  2. What are the major roadblocks to your project right now? What is preventing you from taking your project to the next level?
  3. How would you like to change the structure of the 15% Time project? Journal entries, work time in class, presentations?
For this week's journal entry, you have an open format to address the Project Organization and Reflection Grading Areas.

Address the other Grading Areas by completing the following:
  1. Writing: As always, you must pay attention to spelling, grammar, and sentence structure.
  2. Journal Entry Format: Title your entry "Journal Entry Week 1 Spring" and include two labels, separated by a comma, in the following format - Justin J., Week 1 Spring
