My Big Idea: Develop A Full Working Bicycle With A Motor

Goals for my project: I have a lot of goals for my project and my standards are pretty high for my bike. I will need or research what is the best motor for the bike and how to weld it into place. I want the big to be 4 stroke and have front and back brakes. Also for the bike I will have it painted with a NHS husky theme. I want to put a throttle directly on the handlebars.

Background: I have a decent background knowledge on motors and how they work. I have 3 dirt bikes so I know how to work on motors from fixing them myself. My neighbor also made 2 of these motor bikes and I was there to watch him build them. If I was ever stuck I could give him a call to help me out with building the bike. Also looking on YouTube and web pages I have a pretty good idea. I need to get all of the write parts.

Resources: the websites and videos have helped me out a lot, and I have got a great idea for the bike.

Reflection: although I have a good idea of what I am going to do, I still need to research a little more. I need to make sure I have all of the right parts ahead of time. I need to watch videos to show exactly how to build the bike then use my resources.

Next steps:
-find a good bike. (bmx bike 20 inch wheels)
-find the motor (39cc chainsaw)
-start the build

My Big Idea: Develop A Full Working Bicycle With A Motor

Goals for the project: by the time I have left I need to set reasonable goals, so I can achieve them all. I may not be able to do everything I originally planned for the project. With time being important I will have to start building my bike right when I get back to be able to finish. My goals are simple now and I just want to be done by the end and have it work.

Background: I have researched the bikes more and talked to a couple people on the best way to build the bike. I talked to my friend who has built many and he has told me and when I go home he will show more in detail.

Resources: the forums have also helped me out a ton with my project

Reflection: my research is coming along great and I am ready to build. I just need to be able to get the bike, parts, and the motor and I will be ready. It should be able to be finished by the end of the school year.

Next steps:
- start looking for parts
- be able to get the motor and spindle
- start to find a way to mount the motor
