For my 15% time project I am attempting to build an electric bass guitar. I am using a guitar kit with all the parts needed and using resources online and on campus to put it together. Building the guitar requires some woodwork, painting, wiring and electric circuiting.
Why are you doing it?
I decided to build a bass for my 15% time project because it combines something that I love with engineering. Even though I'll enjoy building the guitar and hopefully playing it, the process will take a long time and will require a lot of problem solving and learning new skills in order to wire, and soder and build correctly.
What does this help you do that's important?
Building this bass guitar helps me learn more about the physical equipment and science behind music. It's important for me to learn things like this because I plan on going to college for music.
